About

The Saatchi Gallery opened in London in 1985 with an inaugural exhibition of Warhol, Judd, Marden, Twombly. The Gallery moved in October 2008 to the 70,000 sq. ft. Duke of York HQ building on King's Road, Chelsea.

It has attracted 7 out of the top 10 most visited exhibitions in London in the last 3 years, according to the Art Newspaper Museum Attendance Survey, featuring shows of contemporary Chinese artists, new art from the Middle East, Germany, United States and the UK, and a survey of contemporary sculpture from around the world.

The Saatchi Gallery is one of the world’s top ...

I recently saw this exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery -- I found it very depressing, some how. At the same time, it's an intimate study of the human condition that reminds us of our tribal heritage; a need many of us have today to mark ourselves and create individuality. There's something disturbing and at the same time very brave about the whole tattooing phenomena. It's permanence is scary to me.
